(1) Tetrahydrofuran is especially suitable for dissolving PVC, polyvinylidene chloride and butyl aniline. Tetrahydrofuran is widely used as a solvent for surface coatings, anticorrosive coatings, printing inks, magnetic tapes and film coatings. Used for electroplating aluminum liquid as a reaction solvent.
(2) Used as a nylon 66 intermediate.
(3) Tetrahydrofuran is an intermediate for the synthesis of the pesticide phenbutyltin.
(4) In addition, Tetrahydrofuran can be directly used in the manufacture of synthetic fibers, synthetic resins, synthetic rubbers, as well as a solvent for many polymeric materials, precision tapes and electroplating industries.
